Life will change but the love won’t

What was life like when your parents were in 7th grade? Things have definitely changed a lot since my parents were in middle school. And many things are still the same. For instance, math is still the same, for the most part.

English, science, history, and geography are still the same, not a single thing has changed. However, many things are very different since those days.

I study online now and do all my classes through Google Meet where I turn my camera on and pay attention. Because of COVID-19, kids have to wear masks to school and stay six feet apart and for those who do school online, they have to talk to their teacher through online apps such as Zoom, Google Meet and Google Classroom.

Aside from school, people still have to wear masks and stay six feet apart while shopping or going to a park. Parents are very cautious about letting their children play in parks and most kids near me aren’t going to school in-person.

I haven’t left the house in over a year. I still walk around the neighbourhood but I haven’t gone to any stores since the first lockdown.

I don’t know when things will start going back to normal, but this will be our normal for awhile.

What we all need to do is find the wellspring that keeps us going, that gives us strength for a long time.
