The Poetic Word

Why humans couldn’t appreciate their gift until the lava spilled across the once beautiful home

Caught up in attempting to be creators,
Destroying what’s given
Just to abandon

Abandon and to search for another,
Another planet to disrupt and conquer

Endangered and Extinctions
Had been coexisting for eons
However our consumer mentality
Would bring destruction to us all!

Quarantined
Got us thinking
Of all the things
We have done wrong,
But the truth is that
There has to be an escalation
For us to feel the burn
Deep inside of our subconscious core

I wonder if other nations
Of this universe
Laughs!
When we run from our worldly problems

All the malicious planning to colonize other lives,
When maybe out in space
They are more advanced,
And we are behind in the
Evolution schedule

Being the first to flee
For those who can afford
Leaving behind the marginalized
Blaming,
They deserved it all

False speeches
Just to buy time,
And forget the ones
Who will feel the wrath?
Caused by our gluttony.

A selfish bunch
That Earth had put up,
But Earth will detox
If we don’t smarten up
And stop being the thorn

Earth will one day be tired of this mistreatment
Because we are the thorns

When all we had to do was listen
To the warnings from the wise,
And not wait for the news to spread
And silence public cries

Maybe once we take ancestral teachings and listen more seriously,
Like the buzz formed by gossips about celebrities

Earth would give us the chance to do right,
But, are our stubborn beings ever going to stop being a nuisance?

Earth is already showing signs
Of not being any more merciful

A sign that those who know
Have dreaded the day,
Of a race against time
To not become part of a history book.

The title,
Why humans couldn’t
Appreciate their gift
Until the lava spilled across
The once
Beautiful home
