Busy days
Sleepless nights.
Trial and error everyday
It can be discouraging at times
Goals continue to slip away
Like rocks submerged in the river covered with algae.
To achieve is like climbing halfway to Mount Everest
Then turn around before reaching the top
Publicly seen as a sob story.
Disagreements
People coming and going
The ones we love the most
Be the first to disappear,
Like the air clearing away from smoke
Heartbreaks
Trust fades
Back to square one
The drawing board becomes brittle from all of the scars it had taken
Again and again,
But in the end
Were your goals a smart investment?
The broke nights
The kicking at the door
For everything that wasn’t going right?
Ask those questions
And answer accordingly.
Know why you started
In pursuing a dream in practice
Instead of the million of empty words
That rest with the minds
Buried six feet under.
