Baby steps; Our pathway to success

BY KAHA G. – 14 YEARS OLD

Imagine this…

You’re at the beginning of your journey: quiet, anxious, but ambitious.

Wondering if your expertise will wow the world and undoubtedly wow you.

You’ve never played this game before or seen how it’s done but you have the determination and strength to keep you going.

Those two qualities make up 100% of the respected hardworking individual that have seen fame.

Grasped its rush and shined through.

We start life in a pitch-black room, feeling a sense of displacement, being lost.

So, when we do rise to success, and discover our genuine self?

Our box starts to light up; corner-by-corner until the whole room is filled with an array of beautiful bright lights to remind us of how we’ve shone.

At our starting point is one of the most sentimental yet sensational feelings.

If you had known you would achieve such excellence, life would have been a breeze.

We would have told ourselves, “I believe in you,” Keep doing what you’re doing,” and “I am so proud of you.”

It all came down to those baby steps.

The trial and error you faced.

All of the frustrating nights, lonesome hours, the pauses that led to regret, and everything in between.

Everyone has either found that light switch, or not, and that’s okay.

Finding our light will take time, that’s how it mapped out to be.

I was constantly devoting my time to photography and stepped aside from writing for a while.

Then I realized, my passion for writing is far more important.

So, I advise you to make time for what’s important.

Be there to nurture it, sculpt it into greatness.

And ultimately be yourself as it’s the only thing left to do.
