Brampton Communities Unite for Bold Care

“Together, we are shaping the future of health care.”

When over 850 hearts pulsed under the same roof at the Pearson Convention Centre on April 11th, 2026, the 13th annual William Osler Health System Foundation Holi Gala raised $977,850 in one electric night, money that will now flow straight into Brampton Civic Hospital, Etobicoke General, and the Peel Memorial Centre for Integrated Health and Wellness.

Amrit Maan’s Punjabi beats still echoed as: guests, community leaders, business owners, families, danced, laughed, and gave. The sold-out room was strategic. In a region where Black, Caribbean, South Asian, and immigrant families lean hardest on these very hospitals, this gathering turned cultural joy into concrete power.

BVD Group, led by the Dhillon family, returned as Presenting Sponsor for the fifth year running. Bikram Dhillon captured the spirit plainly, “Each year, we are inspired by the passion, generosity, and sense of community that come together in support of the hospitals that serve all of us, our families and our neighbours.”

Dr. Frank Martino, President and CEO of William Osler Health System, made the stakes clear: the funds will accelerate innovation, advanced care, and leading-edge medical solutions for the diverse patients these hospitals already serve. Shelagh Barry, Interim President and CEO of the Foundation, closed the night with the line that still lingers: the energy proved “What we can achieve together.”

Platinum Sponsor In N Out Carwash and Detailing Centre, along with Gold Sponsors CIBC, Echelon Insurance, and Homelife Miracle Realty Ltd., stood with them. The real story was not the logos on the stage. It was the quiet understanding in the room: when systems stretch thin and governments move slow, communities refuse to wait. They colour the night, raise the bar, and build the future themselves.

One night. Nearly one million dollars. Countless lives touched.

That is agency in full bloom.
