High school is stressful; No one told me about this part!

BY KAHA G. – 14 YEARS OLD

“The only impossible journey is the one you never began.” Tony Robbins

As you know, the school season has begun. This is the time where students grow wiser in mind-set, as well as in age. It is the time where you’re supposed to be learning how to find yourself, and hopefully achieving life goals you set. Nonetheless, it can get stressful. For example, I started to feel overwhelmed by friends, homework, and many other things, and we are only in the second week of school. To think that I felt the heat in a small period of time is worrisome.

First and foremost, in high school there are a lot of changes: the atmosphere, the systems, subjects, clubs (there could be more or less depending on where you go), and yourself.

Take it from me this high school thing is not easy especially after what I’ve observed for the past few weeks. Something I never saw before that really took me by surprise is the fact that you begin to see who is really about you, and who is not. I have tried not to fret, because it’s all a part of the process that leads us on our way towards success.

I look back on my life and say, “Kindergarten really was the best grade.”  We got to take naps after lunch, and have our teachers read books to us. There would be no worries in the world, and all of the homework was easy when we mastered the basics. What more could we want in life? When in reality, it’s a class full of children that have yet to see the parts of our society that are not filled with sparkles and rainbows.

In conclusion, high school is the time period in our lives where we first experience adulthood, and yes, it can be terrifying.
