Covid has lasted for quite some time, it started in 2020 and now we are still dealing with it in 2022. Sure, we had some ups and downs, we had to work online, and the restrictions went down, and they were put back up. Even though we had these moments, we stuck together and found ways to stay happy.
The government advertised vaccines and encouraged everyone to get them. Even though these vaccines protect you, some people still refuse to get them. After people started to refuse the vaccine, the government passed a law where the unvaccinated will not be able to work.
People got really mad and started to protest. These protests started almost a month ago and till now, a lot of people have been arrested for their actions.
Police say they have made forty-seven arrests in Ottawa as they cleared downtown, a day after weeks-long protests turned violent. City, provincial and federal law enforcement officers began an unprecedented operation Friday morning to remove demonstrators, their trucks and cars, that have been blockading the streets. On Friday, more than 100 people were arrested, and 21 vehicles were towed. Another 38 vehicles have been towed since Friday, police say. “Protesters continue to be aggressive and assaultive on officers. They are refusing to comply with the orders to move,” police tweeted Saturday. “You will have seen officers use a chemical irritant in an effort to stop the assaultive behavior and for officer safety.” the tweet states.
These protests are not at all safe and have caused many injuries. I really hope people will find something to agree on and no one gets hurt.
Getting vaccinated isn’t bad at all. It does hurt after a while, but it’ll go away after a day or two. Protecting and helping makes a community strong.
