On Friday, February 7th, 2020 Jamaica National Money Services opened its third location in the GTA. With a new site in a new city, JN Money offers all the services to help customers connect to home while also preventing extensive travel distances. As the Jamaican community continues to grow exponentially – with upwards of nearly 50,000 local residents – it only made sense to have its latest office centrally located in Brampton, according to regional manager, Claude Thompson.

JN Money Services is a remittance company that facilitates transfers to bank accounts, allows for mobile credit top-ups, and presents customers with the opportunity to pay bills and property taxes in Jamaica.

Claude Thompson, who manages the entire operation for Canada including other locations in Toronto and Scarborough, has nothing but high expectations for the Brampton office. “We are expecting to do extremely well. Since opening, we’ve received many questions and transactions thus far which is a clear indication that the move was correct,” Thompson says.

As we enter a digital era, Thompson admits that dynamics are changing within how money is transferred. In order to keep up with the market of new-age mobile payment apps, Thompson proudly speaks of a card that “no one else has,” he claims.

The JN Money Card – a unique and innovative option that gets rid of the typical 3-5 business day wait and instead authorizes for funds to be applied almost instantaneously, where recipients could then use it as a debit card or to withdraw money from participating ATMs in Jamaica. “It eliminates long lines and people have the flexibility to pick up the money anytime, anywhere,” Thompson says.

With an announcement that a JN Money app is coming soon to further advance its digital services, Thompson reminds customers: “JN Money is not just a money transfer company – we’re able to do much more than the average. We have hopes of changing the market in terms of how transfers are sent.”
