It has been one year since lockdown and stay-at-home work started. I have been doing online school since then and it has definitely been hard. Something I use to motivate myself is the reward system, you write down everything you need to do and split it up.
For example, don’t write down “complete science”, instead write down “finish chapters 1 and 3”, then reward yourself after you completed the assignment. Study for twenty-five minutes and take a five-minute break.
Since I’m staying at home and most of my friends are at school in person, I use apps like “google hangouts” and “Snapchat” to keep sane and talk to my friends.
To maintain a simple system to ensure my attention goes toward my teacher while in zoom meetings, I wake up early to make sure I’m well-rested and I make sure to have a fidget toy, that is small enough not to distract me, close by.
I make sure everything I use at school is near me, so I don’t have to get up and search for it.
Apart from school and keeping in touch with my friends, I also have to let my energy go, so I walk around my neighbourhood or go down to my basement and do some exercises with my brother.
That is what I have been up to in lockdown, what have you been doing?
