The fashion industry has been influenced by trends for many years. Some individuals consider themselves to be trendsetters, while others follow the trends. Whether you’re setting it, or you’re following it, fashion trends are always changing. Most trends are not new they simply made a comeback.
In 2022 we are seeing many fashion trends, from colour blocking and pop colours, to floral prints, and headscarves.
Colour blocking is that trend that keeps on repeating itself. This involves using a variety of solid colours, usually three or more, to create a bold, eye-catching look. It can be simple, yet very chic.
It has been said that floral prints are a thing of the past, but on the contrary floral prints are timeless, and still blooms today! They are, and have always been very trendy, I mean, who doesn’t want a beautiful floral-patterned piece in their closet?!Floral prints are classy, enticing, and far from boring.
From chic evening gowns to playful cocktail dresses, ties and shirts, floral prints are here to stay, and they are an excellent choice for anyone looking to add some flavour to their wardrobe. And if you really want to add a unique touch to your style, combine your floral print with a hint of any bright solid colour, especially in the summer months.
Speaking of summer. One trend that has made a major comeback is headscarves. The accessory trend seems to be popping up on runways everywhere, and they are going to be huge this season. Outside of cultural appropriation these oversized silk scarves were once associated with housewives and superstars back in the 60’s. The Queen herself still rocks a headscarf to this day.
Much like the floral trend, headscarves are classic and alluring and they depict a stunning feminine appeal.
Not sure what to wear to your next event? Well, years ago we could only get our style inspiration from magazines and fashion shows, but today, style inspiration is everywhere, and one of the biggest platforms for style and fashion is social media. I know that I have taken advantage of more than a few fashion tips over the years.
So, whatever your style, think bright this season, I guarantee you that you cannot go wrong, and if you are not into florals, stick to bright solid colours, accessorize your look with a colourful headscarf, and don’t forget to colour block to really spruce things up.
If you are going with a floral print pants, dress, or skirt, add a bright pop colour. Two of my favourites are orange and yellow. Your pop colour could be that bright coloured handbag, headscarf, or fedora hat. This will complete your look and turn a lot of heads.
It is hard to set a trend; therefore, I would never consider myself a trendsetter. What really sets you apart is having your own personal style, and if you find that challenging, simply hop onto social media, for some great ideas, take different looks, and make it your own. If you can do that, you will always be trending!
