Caretakers of creation,
Made in the image of unseen kingdoms.
Fruitful to spread out earthly tasks,
Watching over all things big and small.
Enjoying abundance in bushels,
Limitless interactions with eternal light
For all.
Living work of art
With the named and the undiscovered.
From the complex creatures in colonies,
To the solitary ones balancing out
Ecosystems and habitats.
In the grand scheme of universal
Masterpiece.
Protecting the Great One’s gift to us,
A place we call home.
To tend and prune
To water and feed.
The Earth is a huge backyard
For daily gatherings to be thrown.
The love and hate story
Between nature and us.
Is like a wedded love filled
With narcissistic tendencies,
By multiple thoughts fighting
To be on top.
Be cautious of inventions that disturb
Natural environments.
Like flashing lights of cities
Leading migratory birds
Their downfall.
Or entrails mapping out plastic
Wastelands,
After consuming the original land.
Contaminating its waters.
As humans
Representing a speck of dust,
In the world’s timeline
There is great responsibility.
If there’s commotion,
Throwing all creation in disarray,
To whom would receive the greatest of
Blame?
In the end,
The nature will overthrow
And prevail man made creations,
Just give her some time.
The scars will be filtered
Till it’s a memory.
Humans must be humble or be humbled
If we don’t watch out in the nick of time.
