A Black Boy’s Heart

Read a poem for the dear black boys,

The innocence being stripped away

But reasons only they themselves would see a way.

Making sense in the heat of the moment.

Who can be the judge and cast the first

Stone?

Because a black boy joy is healing of

Nations far and wide.

The smile of a black man

Will bring rain to relieve plagued lands

From centuries of drought.

Black women, we want to grow old

With our black boys and men,

Hence why our prayers can be felt.

Across seas

Behind everything meant to separate

Our nations.

Held a black man

Deep in the belly of the beast.

Said all he could see is his mother,

We came to terms with who we are & wept.

Paperwork labels him as a monster

But I see him as a brother.

Father.

Uncle.

A black man that the black community

Spiritually cries out

Its Needs!

Not the old fragments stuck into the flesh

Causing infection and decay.

But the brand new maturity

Breaking free from the cocoon…

After transforming the thoughts of

Misguided intelligence to a being

Beneficial to all communities that are

Hurting for the losses we see as our

Joy and pride.

Black wombs continue to cover

Blacks seeds

That are nurturing the next gen

Family tree.

Black boy heart

So pure

That it needs to be protected

By all means necessary!
