Although the year was frightful, there was many things that made it delightful

BY SABRINA S. – 12 YEARS OLD

It’s no secret that 2020 had ups and downs for everyone. We all had to switch to online learning and the cases of COVID-19 were booming sky high, but there were many things that made this year somewhat delightful and lifted our spirits.

We all found joy in baking, cooking and making different crafts during lockdown. We all have learned something that is a little odd but will help us in the future.

Now we all know how to navigate different platforms, Google Classroom, Microsoft Teams and Zoom. I definitely learned how to navigate these apps and different social media platforms like tiktok.

We’ve all had extra time on our hands and hopefully used it to do something creative. I learned how to make different origami animals and have gotten really good at drawing. I have also been learning to cook different things ranging from eggs to noodles.

Something I’m really thankful for and have really looked up to is writing articles. This year I started writing articles and I have probably written over ten articles so far. I’m really thankful for this job since I love literacy and have always wanted to share my thoughts with others. I’ve definitely accomplished that this year.

Amongst many obstacles, I’ve accomplished many things and I hope you did as well. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunities I got this year, I will definitely use them for good. Happy Holidays.
