DRASTIC is an Antiguian-born artist who is using his platform to blend Caribbean music, Black entrepreneurship, wellness and culture for a new fitness and lifestyle movement called ‘Carnival Catalyst.’

Noting that the world is living in a time when many rely on multiple streams of revenue, DRASTIC was encouraged to get involved in other businesses and propel his career forward.

Along with being a singer and songwriter, DRASTIC is also a personal trainer. Before that, he had never considered implementing a program that combined his music and fitness. Creating Carnival Catalyst became a way for DRASTIC to market his music and intertwine his passion for athletics to become one. “It was just ways to tie my life, everything that I do in life holistically, and turn it into opportunities,” said DRASTIC.

Carnival Catalyst launched in July 2025, and DRASTIC is currently focusing on pushing it out there and letting people know it’s available and ready. To promote the fitness program even further, a barbecue/fitness launch will be held to help with promotion.

For DRASTIC, the biggest highlight from launching the program would be getting it completed and overcoming the hurdles he faced. Some of the hurdles DRASTIC faced included: the venue not being ready, issues with transportation, someone not being able to make it, or times when he wanted to give up. However, he would remind himself not to let any hurdles stop him from achieving success, as he knew something big was on the way, which is what pushed him to keep trying.

Juggling being a full-time artist along with handling the setup process and logistics behind the program’s launch was very demanding for DRASTIC. However, he is proud to see it happen and likes the look of the finished product.

The program’s workouts are centered around techniques. It involves body training, which teaches participants to manage their own bodies. Workouts can be done in the comfort of one’s home. This can be beneficial for those who are intimidated by going to the gym, and are not comfortable in a space where there are a lot of people.

For the energetic element of the program, DRASTIC incorporated soca music into the mix. He wanted to add soca music to the program to provide good spirits, and to get things started on a high note.

Participants have the option of choosing between a fun routine, dances, or a cardio workout, with another phase of the program expected to be introduced at a later date.

The launch of a new fitness program is not DRASTIC’s only endeavour. His 2020 single, “Sweet Antigua,” reached a big milestone this year.

The melody of the song had always been in DRASTIC’s mind since he was a kid, not knowing it would eventually become a song when he became an adult. He wanted to make a song that would make Antiguans very proud of where they’re from and would market the country very well. He also wants to encourage people to visit Antigua and see what life is all about for Antiguans, or imagine life in Antigua through the song. A music video for the song was produced to capture the essence of everything about the island.

The song received positive feedback, with people loving the song, speaking highly of it, and referring to it as a national song. Tourists visiting the country will tag DRASTIC in their posts if they’re using the song in the background. DJ Khaled happens to be one of those tourists. The DJ and record producer recently took a trip to the country with his family, and posted a picture featuring his family, Prime Minister Gastone Browne and his wife Maria Browne with the song playing in the background, which was later reposted by Vybz Kartel.

Independent artists have to push it on their own with no big team. So, for DRASTIC, it was a blessing to see his single being endorsed by Khaled and Kartel. It feels good that the benefits are starting to trickle down. He hopes something more can be leveraged from the recognition, such as writing a song for either Khaled, or Kartel.

In response to being endorsed, DRASTIC posted a message on social media, thanking Khaled and Kartel. Whether the post is viewed by either one, or both, DRASTIC wanted to let it be known publicly that he’s appreciative of the endorsements.

DRASTIC is using this opportunity as a driving force for him to soar within the entertainment industry by: living in the moment, staying prayed up, remaining positive and hoping more comes out of it. He’s hoping this will lead to a networking opportunity that will be life changing.
