Society’s influence on community
Has changed so much
Maybe it had always been there
And social media amplified what was hidden in the dark
Competition over collaborations
Envy disguise as compliments and praises
Looking for opportunities just to gate keep
Smiling to cover while closing doors on anyone emerging
This city is full gems,
Too many
Overlooked
This city is selfishly keeping them behind curtains.
Emotionally draining to see how the public complain
About the lack of creative content,
When they turn the other way on non-mainstream creations
Words of truth
Become silenced,
While glorifying certain agendas
That gets recognition and platinum’s
Years gone by
Now the impact had infiltrated
Generations that withered before full blossom
If the community’s support runs deep like
A mighty river
Moving in one direction,
The accomplishments
Will flow as vast as oceans,
Sustaining life,
Nurturing the world
Like the Sun
