The Poetic Word

Time Of Letting Go

Overstaying is like sticking into quicksand

Photographer: 1MilliKarat

Overstaying is like sticking into quicksand

Without any signs of fighting back.

Sinking into an inferno of insanity,

Thinking of different results

Over showering multiple chances.

Forcing for acceptance

Is torture to self.

Knowing that you aren’t wanted

Yet beg to be let in

Is like the fate of Loki,

Mythology in realistic depiction

Of insanity that us humans treat our

Own selves with scrutiny!

Red flags

Ignored.

Even when the signs were transparent

Like the elephant screaming in the room.

Stages of denial act in annual seasons.

From singing affirmations of worth like

Reciting mantras,

Back to frustration after failed attempts

Of bargaining.

Like a mother bear awaiting for the cubs

To outgrow  breast milk,

To venture out on their own

As grown…

Knowing when someone has overstayed

Their position, needs to outlive

And surpass for their own growth.

Respect each purpose and timing.

Not everything is built to last forever.

Like leaves that will surf on

Autumn winds,

Self-love and respect shall migrate

To greener pastures.

No drought shall cause the feet to sink

Into the tar pits that we have created.
